Blog Comments

1. What do you think of our blog?
  • What do you particularly like about it? What's especially impressive?
  • What could be improved? What's missing or could be added?

2. Based on what you've read on the blog (and maybe seen in test screenings in class) what suggestions do you have regarding what we could do to make our Practical Production really successful?

  • What other things could we include in the production?
  • How should we go about filming any remaining scenes or editing the footage during post-production (+ suggestions for music, etc.)?

1. I think your blog is really interesting, i like the idea on what your doing your production on. You have also added in alot of research which is useful for other people as they can get a taste/hint of what your blog is all about.
. What i found really impressive is the amount of animales you have captured,it's really amazing, i also like your progress report as it is really useful to see what you have done and what you are hoping to do.
2. To make your production sucessful i belive that you should go to other parks and get footages of other animals ( try and visit Osterly Park)
. Maybe you can use newspaper aricles based on animales in your production that is really helpful.
. Also i belive that you should have a male voiceover,in your production/or maybe if you narrate it yourself it would look authentic! Another thing is that try and use a tripod for some of your shoots i know it's hard but maybe you can be lucky and get asteady shoot of some of the birds.

1. I like the fact that the colours used on the blog compliment the genre. I also like the pics as it makes the blog attractive and interesting to view. There is also a lot of background research present which is educational and there are detailed plans as well.

You could maybe post up a pic of you shooting more shots.

2. For post production, you could use a variety of shots to make your documentary interesting such as close ups and medium shots etc you could also use a voice over to narrate the scenes and use parallel fairly soft music.

1.* well firstly i am loving the colours of your blog.. goes V. well with what you are researching and basing your productio0n onnn....
* also you have done a great deal of research and seem to know alot about birds....
I also like your *original* idea... as no1 else has done a wild life doc before... !
* to make your blog look better i think you should add in some video research of some wild life to your blog i.e clips from Youtube of various wild life docss... AND EXAMPLES of some of the birds you have captured ... but overall KeEp Up tHe lUvlY BlOg!!

2. From your test shots i could see that you had alot of footage... to make your shots better i think you should Zoom out on the enviroment you are filming...(long shots) (good effect) Alsooo try to catch the birds from different angles I.E looking up at them from a distance to capture how high they are.. capturing footage of their habitat... maybe consider staring in the documentary yourself as the presenter!! (or getting someone esle to)

Newayyy keep up the good workk chintan !!

1. I think your colour scheme on the blog works well for the wildlife documentary that you are doing. I also think that the research that you've carried out on other wild life documentaries is really good, as it would help you with the codes and conventions of a wildlife documentary.

2. On you blog you could add up some of your filming, to show some of the wildlife that you've captured so far.

3. I think that it would be quite good if you would actually star in your documentary as it would make it a bit more personal.

4. Moreover you probably should have slightly more long shorts for the surrounding areas to shot to the audience the different places that you've filmed.

Overall i think you have done really well capturing the wildlife in their natural environment!

1. the blog fits in well with your topic..the colours you've used and the pictures reeli stand out.
i like the fact that you go into alot of detail when talkin abt the specific animals.

2. i haven't seen any footage but from whats been posted on the blog it looks really good im just wondering how you can get footage on these animals which u cant reeli c in this weather and they move reeli fast :S :S

i think your idea is reeli good because its sooo different and out of the ordinary of ppl have done b4 for their practical production, but it fits in to documentaries because there are so many docs for animal lovers on BBC1

i think that the blog is really nice, it really matches the kind of documentary that ur doing, i like the green colour which is colour of nature. u have a lot of research done and lot of progress reports it really shows clearly what ur doing. u could add some videos of wild life documentaries in the blog.

i really like your production because it's different from other production that people are doing, it really natural and realistic, we rarely see this kind of documentaries, it is a really interesting topic, and the way that you are going to the park and filming real animals which is really good, the impressive thing is thay you're working alone and the blog is really up-to-date.
what u could do for the post production you could put the voice over to describe the animals that you are showing,go to other parks and try to find other animals, it will be really intersting.
try to get as much animals as u can and a suggestion if u can get wildlife experts to make it look better, and use lot of documentary conventions, music will be like jazz music.
good luck with the editing.

1. I reeally like your blog! it's different to the others - yours looks really nice! lol! Ok, you've got alot of research which i think is fantastic and your progress reports are all good .. so keep doing that.

I think your visits to the park have really paid off which is good and by the sounds of it youve got some excellent footage - like of all those birds

2. Seeing as this documentary is person to you, becuase you like birds, why don't you feature in it? - Almost like Steve Irwin... now that... would be good!

Your research is very good, and shows that you've actually spent time on it. Although some of it does seem as if you've just copied and pasted it. Perhaps write your opinion on it. If you've shown a past documentary, try and comment and what you think is good/bad.

Perhaps you could use archive footage if you're unable to capture some of the animals.

Try to get someone who is older and perhaps someone who speaks well to narrate over your documentary as it would sound a lot more professional and authentic.

1. This blog is looking good, it is evident that you have a lot of detailed research which is great.

2. one thing which you may find useful is if you add sum footage on to the blog so you can get some feedback on it in order for you to improve your work

Overall it will be a great production because as you are working on your own it is evident that you have done alot of preperation so far good luck

I like the colours you have used in the blog as the green goes with the wildlife thing and I really like all the pictures you’ve used- you show all the different types of birds etc. Also, your pretty much up to date with the work and have all your research their.
I think you should post up all the footage that you’ve taken of the birds etc.
From the test screening, I really like the bit when a low angled shot is used looking up at all the tress’s and then the pan- that was really effective-defiantly include that in your final footage.
Try and show a night time version if possible.
I also think it will be effective if you first take a long shot to show the audience the setting and background- this will show the surroundings. The other shots you have of the birds must have been really had to capture but still they are really good.
Overall, I think you’ve done a good job and I think your doc will be really good.

The use of a green colour scheme links well with your production title, 'Park Life'. There's good research, although it seems you're concentrating more on the animals alone rather then researching relevant documentaries. I mean, come on man, you gotta have sumfin about Steve Irwin!

Present the documentary yourself. You mentioned it'll make the production more 'personal', but it will also make it more entertaining to watch. There were a lot of shots with you concentrating on one thing but the camera was hand held; use a tripod for these shots.

You know what i actually like ur whole blog and the idea itself.it's weird coz some people will think its not that intresting but ur braking away from all the othertypical ideas and it hink the examiners will notice that u've done something totaally different from the typical drugs documentaries.
log onto bbc/and the discovery channel which will help you so much in ur docunmentary and ty to get some one like rolf harris lol or some good wildlife expert to help you and interview them.
Good work chintan.

Not only your blog is interesting but your topic seems to be very different and appealing!

To be honest i was kind of thinking it may be difficult to do something like this, however by looking at your blog and the amount of detailed structured work on there, it looks as though you have really made it there, because it is all looking really smashing lol!

You could add some clips and even some of your footage onto the blog so we can see how your doing..other then that wish you all the best!

keep up the good work!

*Your blog is really descriptive and detailed. This is good because it shows how much research and effort you have put into this. You are continuosly posting upinformation about what you have to do an what you have completed in your progress reports which is good.
*Maybe you should include some actual footage you have filmed or even some stills so that we can give you feed back on that. Other than that i like your idea as it it original and unique :)
*For post production you should consider having a male narrator to do the voice over. This is because it will make it will give the documenatry a real sense of authenticity.

Good luck with the blog and post production..Kepp up all of the hard work..

Your blog looks great Chintan! You've clearly done a lot of good research especially the animal profiles. Nice topic to do it on as well as no-one has though of it before and it looks really interesting and creative. In order to make it better, try to give it a clear narrative. Although it is good to have background music, i think on the bits when you have filmed the animals you should keep it silent so you can shock the audience when the animal makes any sudden movemtns. Also interview a wildlife expert. You seem to be very confused about who should present it- well, i definately think that there should be a presenter and it should be someone who ahs experience with wildlife-maybe you could make your expert your presenter. this way, your audience will remain informed at all times, and he may be able to help make your documentary stronger.
You're surely very dedicated to your documentary seeing as you stayed up until 1.55 am to film-Well done cos i wouldnt ever be able to do anyhting like that!
Good luck with it!

Really good blog. The colours that you’ve used go well with your nature documentary. Also really like the genre of documentary that you have chosen to focus on as it’s unique. Even though you’re working on your own you’ve still managed to post up lots of research and info. Although try and include more information on nature documentary conventions as by including these you will get the best possible grade.

Like a lot of others have said… I think that you should definitely star in your documentary. It will improve your documentary as it will help to break up shots creating variance and will also be applying to a key nature doc convention. Shots of you whispering directly in to the camera would look impressive.

Good luck with everything n well done…

You seem to be quite confused about the presenter-well, i think that in order to give it a more professional look, you should definately have a presenter and it should be someone who already knows a lot about your topic-maybe even an expert. This way your documentary will look really professional and he may be able to help you on your narrative and information. Although having background music looks good, i think you should it should be completely silent when you show the animals so that the audience will get shocked with any sudden movements. You seem to be very dedicated to it-especially seeing as you waited till 1.55 am to film a fox cos i would never be able to do that!

1. Your blog looks quite good and the colours chosen are good like green for the enviromental nature stuff and that. I think seeming as though you chose to work by yourself you've done a high amount of work and the topic for the production is original and something that hasnt been done before.

2. Try to get a voiceover done by an adult if you can find anyone, dont do it yourself. But asides from that a good blog and looooooool! theres actually bare birds on here called tits. sick

Your topic looks very interesting and I think that your blog looks equally well. You have alot of research on various animals and I think that this will be very useful for you while filming your footage. But I think that you should maybe give us some images related to your blog so that we can get a better view of what your doing.

2)
for post production take alot of close up shots and parallel music will also go well with the production topic.

1. Ok, your blog seems to be one of the better ones that I have seen, every thing is done, and is posted up at the right – every thing is good!
2. Can’t really say any thing you could improve on the blog
3. for filming, you could go to different locations then just one park, remember there is a lot of wildlife out there – so discover it, I recommend may be Osterly park.
4. May be you could film the sun rising and setting, to show the contrast between night and day, and show that the documentary’s time and location may have changed

1. i like the use of colour f green as it suits the title and the environment, its great that your working alone and working hard, i have no improvements to say..

2. i like the resreach of the birds you have put up, (i'll be looking out in your documentary) i think you could improve by adding amazing clips from blue planet etc.

3. i think you should include how your going to achieve each goal and how you done it as it is hard to catch animals of footage.
